I am a professional singer and composer. I have performed around the country with various bands and ensembles, currently front two bands and work as a session singer. I hold a Higher National Diploma in Music Performance and I studied at Brunel University for a BA in Composition. I've worked in theatre and music schools including Pavlidi Vocal Academy and Stagecoach Performing Arts School. I subscribe to various schools of thought such as bel canto, SLS and CVT, and my main aim is to have students sing in as healthy a way as possible, with the absolute best sound, expression and power they are capable of. To see what I am getting up to outside my teaching, check out my singing website:
I am obsessed with vocal technique and creating powerful, beautiful and expressive sounds which are authentic to the genre. I am very passionate also about vocal health and my technique incorporates the ideas from old bel canto singing and SLS where the focus is on optimum vocal cord function to eliminate strain and damage. I also focus on breath support, expression, range growth, belting, vocal effects, bridging and experimentation to achieve exactly what the singer wants to unleash! I am constantly updating and refining my skill set by studying with other teachers and taking courses. And, of course, I have a lot of real-world singing experience to share.
I offer private lessons in my Folkestone based studio or online via Skype or Zoom. I also offer group lessons, band/group coaching, harmony working, performance/audition preparation, songwriting partnership, recording session coaching, music theory tuition and exam preparation. I frequently enter students for Trinity Music School Rock and Pop examinations and have a pass rate of 100%. I sing and teach in jazz and musical theatre, and all contemporary genres including rock, pop and soul. To find out more about my teaching, click the button below:
